What makes pediatric radiology at McLane Children's special?

The Department of McLane Children's at Scott & White Radiology is committed to providing diagnostic support through quality pediatric imaging and family-centered service. One of our most significant contributions is the expertise of our on-site professional staff of pediatric radiologists who routinely read, interpret, report and discuss findings directly with referring providers from all networks.

Our goal is to provide comprehensive, high-quality imaging services necessary for world-class pediatric care:

  • Instant digital images - In most cases, patients can immediately schedule follow-up appointments with their primary care provider.
  • Cutting-edge MRI - Recently upgraded to receive pediatric specific advanced software, the Philips 1.5 Tesla, Intera MRI technology, employs the most advanced imaging techniques available
  • Elite CT scanner - Only the fifth pediatric system of its kind in the country, the Somatom Definition Flash CT system from Siemens Healthcare is the fastest and lowest dose system available and has the ability to perform full-range scans in less than one second

How can I get my child in to see a pediatric radiologist?

Pediatric Radiology at McLane Children’s accepts patients based upon physician referral. Physicians may call the Scott & White Physician Referral Network at 800-792-3368 or 254-724-2218 to refer a patient by phone.

If your child is a Scott & White Health Plan patient, your pediatrician has the option to refer you to a pediatric radiologist. Some health insurance plans may require a referral before your child sees a pediatric radiologist. You should contact your insurance company to learn about your child’s coverage.
