What makes general pediatrics at Scott & White special?
At McLane Children’s Scott & White, we treat you like family as we get to know your child’s health needs. Our pediatricians care for children as they grow from infancy to young adulthood. Together, we build a relationship that enhances your child’s health and offers continuity of care as he or she matures.
Children benefit from the integrated care offered at McLane Children’s. Through our network of physicians and the
electronic medical records system available at all Scott & White locations across Central Texas, we are able to offer continuity of care throughout their lives—from childhood to adulthood.
Our generalists actively promote early literacy by giving a book and advice about sharing a book with your child at well-child checkups from ages six months to five years. This is an evidence-based initiative that will help your child to develop language and other cognitive skills, in preparation for more formal studies in school. This Reach Out and Read program is aimed both at preventing school failure and at promoting nurturing relationships that will help your child to become a successful adult
This initiative, along with immunizations and other preventive measures, is what well child care is all about.
What kind of quality care can I expect?
All of our pediatricians are board eligible or board certified by the
American Academy of Pediatrics. They are also involved directly with the education of medical students from
Texas A&M Health Science Center, and they train resident physicians seeking advanced education and expertise in pediatrics. They are required to obtain continuing medical education credits yearly and to maintain board certification regardless of how many years they practice.
Our pediatricians understand the importance of involving parents and other guardians in the care of their infants, children, and adolescents. We strive for excellence in patient care and satisfaction. Our commitment at McLane Children’s is to exceed your expectations. We are also establishing a network of small-group community sites to bring that personalized care closer to you.
